In a repeat of last year's final match, Steve Desimone
captured the Championship Flight of the 200 Eddie Reed Tournament outlasting
Ken Lloyd 3 and 2 at Alameda South. This was the third consecutive year that
Steve has won the Championship Flight, meaning he'd won at least a dozen consecutive
matches. In his match against club president Ken Lloyd, Steve won on the 16th hole. Steve was 1-up after the 9th hole. then
won holes 10, 11, and 12. On 11 and 12 Ken missed relatively short putts on
the freshly aerated and unpredictable greens. Ken fought back taking holes 13
and 14, but Steve went dormie upon winning hole 15. They pushed on 16, which
gave Steve the match 3 and 2.

conflicts the
match had to be played simultaneously with the season ending Club
Championship President's Cup Tournament.

In Steve's left hand his 1st place Eddie Reed plague. In his right, his
1st Place President's Cup Trophy. Steve had managed to 3-peat in the Eddie
Reed.
