Diablo Grande (Ranch Course)
4th Event of 2001 Season
Saturday, February 3, 2001
Mark Steppan continued his dominance over the
first flight, capturing second place, losing by 2/3rds of a stroke in an
unusually close second tie-breaker to Ken Lloyd(see below). Mark almost
effortlessly cruised in with a 72 gross! He has now placed in 6 of the last 7
tournaments. Steve Desimone won the first flight's CTP. That makes three
CTPs for Steve in the first four tournaments of 2001. Elliott Friedman continued to dominate the third flight, going
1st-2nd-1st in the last three events.

members Tom
Furtado, Ross Sakamoto, and David Lozow.
"Loz" on #9. (Pronounced like "lows". This day

3rd place in the second flight.

course the hole was the last place he looked for what he thought was a
lost ball.
Mark's drive on #9. Mark, playing solid golf, was 1-over
par on the front, and 1-under on the back.
Mark putting out on #11.

Enjoying a beer after a rough day in the sun are Elliott
Friedman, Ed Biglin, Randy Ballew, and Chris Maters. Elliott took first in
the third flight and recorded the day's lowest net score, 68, on a tough
course. Elliott's been a terror, of late, in the third flight. Over the
past three tournaments he's finished, 1st-2nd-1st.
Ken and Steve computing scores. Ken won the 1st flight.
He's placed first in 2 of the 3 tournaments in which he's participated.
Today's victory was exceptionally close, however, as he edged out Mark
Steppan by 2/3rds of a stroke in the second tie-breaker(see below).
Eddie Reed posts his adjusted score in the tournament
logs.
