Monarch Bay: 2-Ball Championship
11th Event of 2001 Season

Jennifer Proulx watches Jeff Day's approach to #14. Jennifer and Jeff
shot a net 64 which took second place in the UCGC 2-Ball Championship.
Winds were up at Monarch Bay and for the most part so were the
scores. UCGC recaptured the coveted 2-Ball Plaque beating LBL by a score of
20-10. Anchoring the team's performance were 3-point victories achieved by the
following teams over their LBL counterparts: Steve and Robert Desimone, Jim
Peretti and Bob Tulk, Charlie Flowers and John Robertson, and Aaron and Joel
Walburg. UCGC's overall record vs. LBL now stands at 11-6-1. Steve and Robert
Desimone routed the other teams in the UCGC 2-Ball event, with a net 61.
Placing first also earned the father/son team the right to represent the UCGC
in the 2-person team NCGA
Associate Club Four-Ball Net Championship to be held on July 12th. In
second with net 64 was the Jeff Day and Jennifer Proulx team, and placing
third with a net 64 was Jim Peretti and Bob Tulk.

Dave Lozow prepared for his round by sucking down a cold beer. Dave and teammate
Barry Woods placed 10th and just barely made the money cut.

helped the cause.

#10 tee.

Mike Henry and Joel Walburg share the lead for "Goofiest Hair in the
Club". Mike has become enchanted with the "visor look".
Someone please tell him it's "so Dick Van Patten". Anyway, it
pushes all his hair straight out the top in such a manner as to make one
want to place a ball up there and tee off. There's no explanation required
for Joel's inclusion in the "Goofiest Hair Award".

an incredible net 61.
The coveted Best Ball Twosome Plaque is long overdue for a bit of
updating. Dating back to 1984, the plague hasn't been engraved since 1993.
Which club is to blame for such shameful neglect? Likely the UCGC, which,
except for 2000, won every one of those years.
