The 2005 Season begins on October 1, 2004 and ends in September 2005. All tournaments
except the Faculty/Staff begin on
Saturday.

2-Ball Rivalry
Beginning in 2003 our club began playing the UCSF
Golf Club in an annual 2-Ball Matchup. Many have wondered whether UCSF
is a golf club or simply a bug to be squashed. The answer is
"both"!

COURSE DISCUSSIONS
(I'm not sure where to put this kind of correspondence. I'll try it
here for a while)
An email from Steve Obana:
"Just a little feedback on courses for next year.
Cinnabar Hills is great and should be an annual stop! Eagle Ridge
is a typical Johnny Miller course that will undoubtedly have many members
in a tizzy over the greens. Have you played the Bridges or Stone
Tree? In my opinion out of 100 rounds, I would play Cinnabar 99 times
(especially since there are 27 holes ala Poppy Ridge for a little
diversity). In fact, I would say Cinnabar is on par with Wente in
terms of quality.
Also, the trip we took to Whitehawk Ranch (Graeagle) a few years
ago introduced us to a great course in impeccable shape. Maybe something
to think about for an upcoming trip? Although, the Monterey trip presents
a pretty awesome lineup."
Aaron:
"I've played all the courses you mentioned. I can pass on
the Bridges and Eagle Ridge. I wasn't impressed with either really, but
then again a course has to be incredible for me to be ok with housing
lining the fairways. I'm with you on Cinnabar. I've played several rounds
there and that's a great course. I like the Canyon course especially. The
only drawback aside from the drive is the price, which on a weekend is
probably $110 or something by now. Still, I'd support it being on the
schedule. I played Stonetree a few times too. It's also a bit pricey, but
because of it's location I would like it on the schedule sometime. Also,
it's got some really terrific holes."
