Perpetual Trophies
Each of the club's five majors are "trophies"
events. Only two of these feature perpetual trophies. In events with
Perpetual Trophies, winners receive a trophy that is theirs to keep, as
well as possession of the perpetual trophy for one year. It is their
responsibility to return in good condition any perpetual trophy won during
the previous year.

Kooman Boycheff

Kooman Boycheff Memorial has two perpetual trophies, won
for low gross and one for low net. Kooman passed away on January 30th 1978. The first Memorial
tournament was held in February of 1979.

Club Championship

The Club Championship is one of the more prestigious major
events, in part because it is the final event of the season. The Club
Championship Low Gross Trophy was donated to the club by Aaron Walburg on
9/11/2002. Formerly a club championship trophy from the Lido Golf Club in
Long Island, this was purchased at a New York City flea market in 1999. It stands 35" tall.

The Club Championship Low Net Trophy was also donated to

gorgeous trophy. Physically, it's the most handsome perpetual trophy in
the club.

Other Trophies
The following are non-perpetual trophies that serve as awards.
Non-perpetual trophies are permanently given to winners.
2-Ball Championship
|
There are no perpetual trophies awarded in the 2-Ball
Championship. Instead a pair of mugs are awarded the winning team.

Please use the following guideline to maintain the condition of our
perpetual trophies:
No Direct
Sunlight
Please store trophies in an area not subject to direct sunlight. Sunlight
will fade and warp the wood.
No Moisture
Please store trophies in an area free from moisture of any kind
No Polishing
Please do not polish or apply silver polish. The trophies are, at
best, silver platted. Silver polishes actually can damage the thin layer
of silver.
Transport/Handling
Some of the trophies are large and fragile. Please be extremely
careful when transporting them. If moving them via a car it will be a very
good idea to remove the tiny golf clubs from any figurine, and tape
(masking tape) to the base of the trophy so as not to misplace it. Also if
it is one of our larger trophies be sure and support it with both hands,
one beneath the base and the other mid-way up the trophy.
Dusting
Please don’t use any chemicals when dusting. Also don’t dust using
paper products, which are abrasive, and can cause small scratches. Use
cotton, moistened with a small amount of water if necessary. Feather
dusters are ok.

This is best if done at Morrison O’Hara (especially for the Club
Championship trophies. They have the templates on file):
