Web Site Awards
The UC Golf Club web site has been acknowledged for the service
it provides members.

Annual Newsletter Contest Award.
The NCGA discontinued its newsletter contest following the announcement
of 2003 award recipients at the NCGA board meeting in October of 2003. UCGC
submitted printouts of three web tournament summaries and received a third place
trophy. Up until that point all previous award recipients were
paper-based publications. UCGC thus remains the only web site
ever to receive an award from the NCGA.

More than likely the demise of the NCGA's annual newsletter contest is
the result of an increased usage of the web for club-related news. Perhaps the NCGA
will one day renew a contest which acknowledges club web sites rather than
printed newsletters.
History of Club News Converting to Web from Paper Newsletters:
- 10/23/2001: of 596 NCGA associate clubs, 58 have websites.(9.7%)
- 1/1/2005: of 840 NCGA associate clubs, 153 have websites. (18.2%)
