Berkeley, CA, Jan 17, 2007 -- Today UC Golf Club board, voted to remove the discussion board from the UC Golf Club web site.

The board decided to take this preemptive action in response to "potentially harmful" content that could have been posted by members. As outlined by the board, UCGC is an affiliate of the University of California, and therefore potentially liable for derogatory content posted to the site.

A board member outlined his problem with his high school students and their posting to Myspace.com as justification for voting against having a discussion forum.

In the future any comments can be sent to Steve Desimone or Curt David. These comments can also be added to a new Member Forum Section in the future.
